New software, old shots.

Google recently announced that it was making the Nik Collection photo editing suite, FREE for download!  I had used a couple of the Nik PS plugins before, and it's very popular software with many photographers.  Save yourself $$$.. $149 to be exact..

So of course I had to try it out, that's what lazy Sunday mornings are for!  First I tried Silver Efex Pro, Nik's tool for B&W processing.  I Instantly thought of a shot I had done with male model, Max Segurar.  Originally I made adjustments in ACR..

..and finished my B&W processing in PS.

While I made my initial adjustments again in ACR, this time I used Silver Efex Pro for the B&W conversion.

The result was some deeper shadows, enhanced highlights and a little extra sharpness!  The software is very user friendly, and offers many customizable presets.  Hopefully the rest of the suite proves as useful!!
